In 1952 Rieber & Sons and Tarkett, founded Rikett™ in Bergen, Norway to manufacture Quartz Tile. Rikett invented Rikett Quartz Tile, (RQT), as an alternative to homogeneous tiles using asbestos and carbonites. During the 1950’s, an enlightened environmental vision enabled Rikett to replace the harmful chemical asbestos with Quartz, a safe and abundant natural mineral. The new Rikett Quartz Tile was, and still is, vastly superior in strength, flexibility, and performance to all other composition floor tiles. For over 70 years, Rikett has successfully manufactured and sold over 2.5 billion square feet of quartz tile worldwide. Rikett launched RQT in the US market in 1999. In China, Rikett has 2 factories, one is located in beautiful Taicang, Suzhou, No. 2-8 Fenggang Road. One is located in Handan City, Hebei Province, north of the west section of Xinneng Street in Tiantao County.
