Job Description
We are looking for a creative and talented SLG Game Narrative Designer to join our team and play a key role in shaping the game's story and characters. As a Game Narrative Designer, you will work closely with the development team to create compelling narratives, engaging dialog, and memorable characters that immerse players in our game worlds. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a deep understanding of game design principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with artists, designers, and developers.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop content-rich, immersive narratives for SLG games, including story arcs, character backgrounds, and dialog.
- Collaborate with the design team to seamlessly integrate narrative elements into game mechanics.
- Write compelling dialog that brings characters to life and drives the story forward.
- Create detailed character profiles and backstories to inform gameplay and world building.
- Work closely with artists to visualize characters, environments, and storylines.
- Continuously improve narrative elements based on playtesting and team member feedback.
- Maintain consistency and coherence in the game world's lore and story.
Job requirements
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in creative writing, English, game design, or related field.
- Extensive experience as a narrative designer, writer, or similar position in the games industry.
- Excellent narrative and writing skills for SLG/RPG games, with a strong grasp of narrative structure and pacing.
- Understanding of game design principles and how narrative fits into game mechanics.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with artists, designers, and developers.
- A passion for games and an in-depth understanding of different genres and player preferences.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in game world lore and narrative.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with branching narratives and player choice mechanics.
- Familiarity with game development tools such as Twine, Ink, or similar interactive fiction platforms.
- Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Experience with voice-over scripting and directing.
- Published games or projects that demonstrate your narrative design skills.
