Job responsibilities
Reports• Reports to the Head of Marketing and Licensing.Location• Hong Kong (3 days) and Shenzhen- R&D and Design office (2 days)Duties & Responsibilities• Develop short, medium and long-term strategic planning for assigned category/product line and provide life cycle plan recommendations • Develop creative and impactful product and category marketing plans for existing and new products to improve portfolio revenue and meet profitability targets.• Strategically identify new, global product and incremental category opportunities based on quantitative and qualitative analysis of the industry, category, and consumer behavior.• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including but not limited to R&D, Design, Engineering, Packaging and Operations to achieve cost targets and ensure on-time market entry.• Partner with R&D on new product development. Lead new product development efforts including defining product/category vision, product objectives, consumer experience, and merchandising expectations.• Partner with International Sales team and Distribution Partners on strategic marketing plans and develop Marketing Assets to support the portfolio. Work closely with TV Studios producing ZURU Commercials for each Brand.• Conduct timely analysis of sales performance and execute effective reaction tactics in partnership with sales and agency partners.• Prepare presentations on a regular basis to support the sell-in of brands and new product lines to retail partners and to various levels of the business.• Be a product champion creating internal and external enthusiasm for the product line and serve as a mentor and resource to other team members.
Job Requirements
Desired Skills and ExperienceExperience developing products and leading cross-functional teams from product ideation to on-shelf launch preferred. Must have demonstrated the ability to multi-task in previous work environments and be able to set priorities, stay focused, and set clear milestones.Demonstrated knowledge and application of marketing principles and practices, branding, advertising creative development, media buying and planning, social media, budgeting and analysis Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to product quality and safety.Must be a self-starter with energy, drive and determination to accomplish goals.Must demonstrate leadership ability and influence in motivating, guiding cross-functional teams, and holding teams accountable.Superior verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation skills.Must have experience managing and developing direct reports.Experience within the Toy industry is preferred or experience with products targeted at parents and their children or technology-based consumer products.Related Degree or equivalent relevant experience in Marketing or Product Development preferred.5 + years experience in a consumer-driven company – Toy company or other children’s products preferred.
