Duties: • Troubleshoots, calibrates, and repairs electronic monitoring and control and trip circuits and their components. • Diagnose and repair the cause of instrument and control system malfunctions including. transmitters, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), plant or Distributive Control Systems (DCS), Flow meters, Motorize Operated Valves (MOV), Differential Pressure transmitters. • Temperature Gauges, Thermocouples and Resistance thermocouple Detectors (RTDs). • Perform instrument loop checks and field calibrations and suggest modifications to enhance. • Install new control and instrumentation equipment. (Differential pressure transmitters, thermocouples, resistance thermocouple detectors (RTDs) and pressure gauges). • Tunes control circuits to optimize performance. • Installation of field instrumentation and devices. • Identifies and assists in obtaining parts necessary to repair electrical and electronic systems. • Maintain records of control systems modifications (including temporaryjumpers). • Performs (with assistance as needed) the maintenance of equipment by cleaning, adjusting tightening and performing preventive or corrective maintenance and identifying equipment in need of corrective maintenance. Write submits and clear corrective work orders for approvals. Duties: • Make physical rounds of equipment and systems to check for unusual vibrations, noise, temperature or other signs of potential problems. • Change chemical feed tanks and monitor water chemistry in accordance with the prescribed, Procedure and limits. • Handle fuel to meet plant requirements. • Report immediately to the shift charge Engineer or his delegate in the event of an accident occurring involving injury to personnel and in the event an equipment failure occurs which could result in loss of plant or equipment availability. • Maintain clean log of significant operating activities and events. • Work in coordination with safety and Environmental Unity to comply with environmental & safety Policies and objectives. • Carry out activities as directed by the shift charge and in accordance with the lockout/Tag out procedures. • Maintain a clean and orderly work area. • Operates electrical switchgear at all voltages of 6Kva. • Lockout/Tagout on 6KV motors on feedwater pumps. • Operates electrical switchgear at all voltages of 330kva lines. • Inspect, clean, lubricate and perform minor maintenance on all plant equipment and structures. • Operate auxiliary equipment such as the demineralizer, heating and ventilating systems, sump pumps, Service pumps and other similar equipment as required. • Portray the position of Field Operator in a positive and professional manner.
