Job responsibilities
The Director of Sales & Marketing monitor and evaluate all Sales of Rooms, Catering and Communications. Develop marketing objectives, strategies, promotions, online/offline advertising and activities so as to achieve targeted revenues; maximize revenue and profits of hotel through professional guidance and training of sales and marketing personnel.Primary ResponsibilitiesBusiness / Marketing Plan: Identify market needs and trends in travel industry, define the target markets, monitor and analyse competitors sales promotion and activities in order to compile and implement an effective sales and marketing plan for the hotel. Produce periodic action plan based on the Business Plan and ensure that the sales team is performing according to the set objectives.Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare annual operating budget and to ensure that the departmental operation budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are strictly controlled.Sales Strategy Planning: To lead the Sales Strategy and revenue team in setting up pricing and positioning for both all market segments and catering. Regularly review the effectiveness of the Sales Strategy and make recommendations for changes if required. Responding to market research and customers’ feedback on the development of hotel product and guest services.Account Management: To ensure that all information related to all accounts are recorded in PMS and filed accordingly, and the accuracy of information in the systems is maintained at all times. Conduct account review and account audit regularly. Review Sales Activities Reports to ensure that all accounts are properly managed. Set up sales targets for all sales associates. To make certain that the sales team is constantly soliciting new business opportunities and obtaining sales leads through various sources. To monitor the quantity of sales activities to make sure that all sales person associates are conducting sales activities according the set guidelines in number of sales activities per day and call volume etc.Sales Activities: Oversee the planning of all sales activities to make sure that there is appropriate sales coverage and effective customer service at all times. Participate in sales activities by conducting sales calls and meeting with customers to strengthen relationship with customers, maintain personal contact with key customers and to back up the activities of any member of the sales team when required. Conduct international and domestic sales trips, attend local functions, trade shows and promotion to maintain a high level of exposure for the hotel in all markets.Train and develop all sales associates: Lead a motivated, competent staff consistent with hotel needs through implementation of approved sales and marketing training programmes, joint call programme and execution of the continuity plan for career development. Develop training and coaching skills for subordinates’ individual motivation and performance improvement. Conduct regular performance review for all Sales and keep written record for production monitoring. To make sure that there is a SMART development plan for each associate to fortify strengths and overcome weaknesses.Prepare periodic reportsRevenue Management: Review reports prepared by Revenue Manager to analysis market situation and make recommendations on sales strategies and tactics. To make certain that all revenue management tools are properly used aim to maximize the hotel revenue at all times. Regular check on the rate control procedures and conduct rate audit to make sure rate parity in all channels. Ensure that the Reservation Agent is properly managed with all phone calls handled efficiently and courteously, all input in PMS are done accordingly to standards set up.Marketing & Communications.Digital Marketingmarketing channels.Office Etiquette & Business Ethics.Coordination with other departments and session
Job requirements
QualificationsMinimum 10 years’ experience in sales and marketing function in the travel industry, including 5 years in a managerial capacityTertiary education with emphasis on marketing or equivalent (Preferred but not required)Certificate in hotel management or marketing (Preferred but not required)Strong interpersonal and communication skills; aggressive; initiative; self-confident; established relationship with commercial and industry customers
