Program Description IDEAS Summer School is an English immersion program that offers a unique blend of academics, creativity, and fun. Our program integrates STEAM, diverse clubs, and classic camp activities to provide campers with a well-rounded and enriching experience. At the heart of our program is Project-Based Learning (PBL), which helps students develop essential academic and social skills. We are looking for passionate educators who are excited to make a positive impact on young learners. You Should Have: -Passion for working with children (ages 8-12) and creating a dynamic, inclusive learning environment -Strong classroom management skills and adaptability in a fast-paced setting -Experience with PBL (Project-Based Learning) and hands-on, play-based teaching methods Core Responsibilities (All Positions) -Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with PBL (Project-Based Learning) standards -Facilitate hands-on, interactive classes that encourage creativity, collaboration, and curiosity (max 4 teaching blocks per day). -Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom where students feel motivated to participate and take ownership of their learning -Provide written feedback on each student’s progress at the end of the session Location UWC, Changshu, Jiangsu, China Time There are three summer school sessions: 6.27- 7.03 | 7.06 - 7.19 | 7.22 - 8.04 Compensation & Benefits - Competitive salary (teaching fee + curriculum design fee) - Trip stipend for overseas teachers - Meals and accommodations provided for all three sessions
Job Requirements
🔬 STEM Teacher: -5+ years of teaching experience (U.S., UK, or International schools, K-7) -Strong expertise in STEAM subjects -Experience with hands-on science tools and PBL standard 🎨 Art & Design Teacher: -Degree or professional experience in art, design, theater, animation, or a related field -Experience teaching art/design workshops to children (formal or informal) -Creative approach to project-based, experiential learning 📚 English Teacher: -College student/recent graduate in Humanities, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience) -Strong English proficiency and ability to teach speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a fun, interactive way -Experience with games, storytelling, and hands-on activities to engage young learners Preferred: Prior teaching, camp counseling, or mentoring experience
