Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performancePurpose Of RoleThe purpose of the role is mainly to provide wellbeing support to students efficiently and to a high standard.Main ResponsibilitiesStudent Wellbeing Support (50%)To provide day-to-day pastoral care and support to preliminary year students and those taking short-term residential training programs, such as summer and winter programs. To help students cope with personal issues in respect of their social, psychological, academic, financial and other developmental needs, including but not limited to:conducting high-risk and special-care case follow-up.conducting free talks and dorm visits.working with relevant offices on student services and support.taking on monthly on-duty rota by staying on campus to deal with emergency.Student whole-person development support (20%)To organize students’ personal and cultural enrichment programs or activities that address whole-person development needs and enhance sense of belonging to the community.Party Committee and Youth league Affairs (15%)To undertake duties of CPC party branch and Youth League, and organize relevant activities.To work as a supervisor of student clubs or societies and direct daily jobs of the societies.Other student affairs (5%)To manage student personal files, medical insurance and awards appraisals.Continuous Improvement (5%)To participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate.To keep skills up to date and develop depth or breadth of knowledge in a particular area, such as: keep learning in the professional development of Student Support Advisor, through learning from more senior/experienced colleagues, exposure to a range of activities, and formal training/professional qualification.Other (5%)Participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate.Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness.Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.How To ApplyApplicants should submit an application via our on-line application system. Job requirements
QualificationsEssentialBachelor’s degree with hands-on experience in student service sector within an international context. Education or training relating to psychology.The certificate of CET6, TEM8 or equivalent.Fluent spoken and written English.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.Analysis & problem-solving capability.Planning and organizational skills, particularly workflow management.Able to work at weekend or whenever necessary.Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.DesirablePostgraduate degree Overseas study experience or working experience.Experience of working in an international setting and/or education organization.Relevant working experience with students.Intercultural communication skills including fluency in English language.
