USA-based Coordinator to the Ambright Education Group for the Promotion of Group Activities to Schools/Universities/Institutions The Ambright Education Group Ambright Education Group, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Shanghai with business across Asia and Europe, is a modern large private education group with strong comprehensive strength and an international reputation; it is engaged in international cultural, educational, humanity and art exchange, research and introduction of international education and cultural resources, projects, and comprehensive academic education and non-academic education. Ambright is the explorer, pioneer and pilot of China's high-end international education. The Group’s business involves early years education, preschool education, K12 private international schools, international programs in cooperation with public high schools and non-academic education, language and international examination training, international standardized examination with Ambright's own brand and intellectual property rights, overseas university application services, youth quality training and promotion program, high-end overseas talent introduction, Chinese and foreign cultural and educational exchange, as well as humanity and art project introduction. Ambright has built a comprehensive process and infrastructure to identify the most gifted and brightest Chinese students and connect them with top universities primarily in the British Isles and the USA over the past 20 years. Specific activities of the role will include: A)Screen and Select: Using an established and extensive network, students from hundreds of leading Chinese high schools are identified and screened via a series of processes designed specifically to assess student aptitude. The Coordinator will become familiar with the process and promote this within US universities. B)Educate: Different admissions standards mean that students going overseas to study require different background knowledge than students applying to Chinese universities. The Coordinator will advise students and US universities on the foundations they need to succeed in their studies abroad, or propose and build partnerships for foundation/bridge programs with US universities. C)Tests: The Aptitude Scholastic Test (AST) has been designed in cooperation with leading international and Chinese scholars specifically for Chinese students who aspire to apply to international universities. Conducted in English, the tests assess student aptitude in English, Mathematics, Sciences and Economics, and are currently accepted by over forty overseas universities. The Coordinator will promote the use of these tests to US and Canadian universities in the assessment of applicants from PR China, or posssibly from other Asian countries in future. D)Advise: Ambright programs such as the annual Ambright Chinese Elite (ACE) event, the Ambright Summer Camp (held in China) and a team of college counsellors help students find schools abroad that match their interests and levels of ability. The Coordinator will become familiar with the various Ambright programs and promote these to US universities/schools/institutions, or create partnerships with these organizations. E)Apply: The Ambright China Excellence Identification Scheme (ACEIS) consists of a team of college counselors who verify rigorously all admissions documents and ensure that students have prepared a complete application that reflects their true ability, with every application tailored to meet the specific requirements of the receiving university. The Coordinator will become familiar with these processes and promote them to US universities, and identify or select experienced admission experts from prestigious US universities to be part of the team. F) Liaison: The Coordinator will liaise and collaborate with undergraduate and graduate admissions officers at US universities on all aspects of the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate students, with the aim of promoting applications from Chinese students under the various Ambright schemes. G)Support: The Coordinator will support the selection and testing of some of the best students in China in their applications to US universities, help to widen the market for the recruitment of Chinese students to US universities and schools, and the market for the recruitment of US students to Ambright K12 international schools in China. H)Graduate Opportunities: Ambright offers graduate cultural exchange and teaching placements at Chinese schools on the AYC (Ambassador Year in China) programme. The Coordinator will act as employer representative to raise awareness of these opportunities at US university careers services. For instance, the Coordinator may deliver presentations or skills workshops for final-year students at US universities to let them know of these opportunities, or may arrange an East Asia Careers Day. I) Promote Educational Exchange: The Co-ordinator will in addition work with Ambright's International Exchange Department and liaise with relevant colleagues to promote educational exchange between selected US schools and the Ambright Schools, or schools in Ambright's network. This area of work may involve arranging and supporting summer or winter exchange programmes, or connecting schools in China and the US for e-learning or e-pen pals (Talk Pal).
Job requirements
The post is to provide administrative support for the promotion of Ambright within the USA, primarily to highly regarded US universities/schools/institutions. The following administrative duties will be performed with full support from the Ambright Education Group: 1)The promotion of Ambright’s educational program to US university admissions offices/international offices. 2)The provision of support for the promotion of the AST (Aptitude Scholastic Test) in the USA. 3)The provision of support for promoting ACEIS (Ambright China Excellence Identification Scheme) to US university admissions offices. 4)Administrative responsibility for the organisation of Ambright-sponsored seminars and conferences in the USA on Chinese education and other topics that admissions officers will be interested in or may benefit from attending. 5)The provision of support for promoting SAYA, AYC, AFT, etc. exchange programs to US schools/institutions. 6)The provision of support for promoting other cultural, humanity and art exchange programs and activities. 7)Day-to-day administration of duties associated with Ambright activities, including responding to enquiries. The post-holder will report directly to the USA-based director or otherwise designated. Person profile: The role holder will provide a broad range of administrative support to promote Ambright Education Group within the USA. S/he will be educated to degree level, will be IT literate and have enthusiasm for teamwork, multi-disciplinary projects and communication with external partners. Previous experience of the US and/or Canadian higher education sectors is desirable, but not essential. The post would, in addition, be suitable for a recently retired senior US or Canadian educational admissions and/or international education administrator. Term: One-year term, full-time or part-time (3 days per week), flexible working hours for part-time, renewable automatically subject to satisfactory performance. The period of notice of termination of employment will be 1 month for both employer and employee.
