Why is it good to live in China
It's been said that life in China is very inconvenient, and it's still a very old country. As a matter of fact, when you live in China, you will feel that China is growing so quickly. Technology and industry have made life in China seem very easy and comfortable. Teaching English in China for three years, I'll tell you how it feels to work and live there.
Public Transportation
If you live in a big city or a small town, it won't be hard for you to get around. It's very easy to get there by taking a bus, subway, shared bicycles, or shared electric vehicles for a few RMB, which is both environmentally and economically friendly. If you want to go sightseeing in nearby cities, like Shenzhen-Huizhou, high-speed rail is the best way to get there. You will only pay about 15-50RMB on average to get there in 15-30 minutes, and you will be there in about 15 minutes (on average).
24-Hour food delivery
In the middle of the week, you just want to stay in the comfort of your own home and relax. You find that you ate all the food in the fridge yesterday. Meituan and ELEME are two apps that you can use for takeaway food. You can choose the food you want, place an order, and wait for the delivery man to arrive. A few simple steps will get you your food, whether you want barbecue for breakfast or dumplings for lunch. It's also common for the delivery fee to be just 1 to 10 RMB (on average, according to distance).
WeChat and Alipay
It will be easier for you to live in China if you use Alipay and WeChat, two very useful apps. There are many things you can do with them in China, like make payments, transfer money and pay utility bills. You can also use them to order food and buy movie tickets. Remember to link your bank account to the apps.
Online shopping is where you buy things
There are a lot of shopping websites in China that you can use to buy almost anything you want or need without going to the store. Taobao and T-mall are two of the most popular. In particular, most products don't need to be sent and will be delivered in a week. On some days, like Double Eleven (November 11) and Double 12 (December 12), you can get a lot of things for a low price (maybe 50 percent off or buy one get one free).
Food
It's also important to think about the types and prices of food when you live somewhere else. The food in China comes from all over the world, so you don't have to worry about not liking it. You can get a tasty lunch at a local restaurant for very little money, or you can go to a fancy restaurant in the city center. Local markets and supermarkets are full of fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, and other foods that you can buy to make your own food if you don't have enough money to eat out all the time.
The decision I made to live and teach in China was the best I've ever made. I'm very happy with how I'm living right now.
