to situate and market the business in the local area. We looked at how
Windlesham would offer an inclusive, vibrant golf club atmosphere whilst
catering for golfers of all abilities. I was responsible for increasing membership
sales by 15% in 2008, implementation of my own idea, involving the US
Masters, resulted in 150 new members in 6 weeks.
The main aspect I learnt from my work is that even in these chastened
financial times, a business that knows its market and delivers what the
customer wants, is well placed to ride out the storm, and Windlesham is just
that club.

This scheme gave me a broad understanding of various aspects of the
financial world and personal wealth management. I was awarded ‘most
innovative idea’ for a business, which was pitched in a ‘Dragon’s Den’s’ style
to Fleming Family & Partners management.
This experience taught me the importance of understanding financial
management for any commercial business.
