Teaching Spanish to Upper school students grades 10-12. Teaching all modalities of Language Instruction as well as Hispanic Culture and Literature. Assessing students’ progress. Preparing lesson plans, exams, quizzes, assigning homework and projects, and entering grades for 5 classes. Classes taught: Spanish 3, Spanish 3 Lyceum, Spanish 4, Spanish 4 Lyceum, and AP Spanish Language and Culture. Textbooks used: Realidades 2, Temas, Senderos 3, and Reporteros 2, each with its available workbooks and/or digital versions. Other responsibilities: Advising students, communicating with parents via email and in conferences, Spanish language assistance club, attending staff and teachers meetings.

Teaching Spanish courses to students in grades 9-12, including CP, AP, and Honors classes. Participating in ongoing planning, development, and evaluation of curriculum. Maintaining accurate records and grades for students. Implementing diverse approaches to ensure both language and academic success. Using a variety of instructional strategies to provide equity and excellence to students of all ability levels, including innovative technology.

Teaching beginner, intermediate, and advanced Spanish lessons to adults whose native language was Turkish, English, and Ukrainian. Scheduling and arranging online and in person lessons for groups and individuals. Creating lesson plans based on students interests and occupations. Developing and implementing lesson plans in Spanish to introduce and reinforce speaking, reading, writing, and listening language skills. Providing students of all skill levels with instructional materials to keep lessons interactive. Assigning coursework and administering tests. Teaching Hispanic culture and encouraging students to participate in Hispanic cultural activities available in the Spanish speaking community near them.

Providing instruction for ESL students ages 9-10 in Reading, Writing, and English Language Arts. Providing instruction for children in small groups, individually or as established by campus need. Preparing materials and/or mini-lessons to be delivered to students based on needs identified by assessments or campus staff.

Teaching beginning level Spanish courses for college students. Developing visual aids, activities, tests, quizzes and other curriculum materials. Creating unit and lesson plans. Evaluating students by a variety of means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives. Employing a broad range of instructional strategies to retain student interest and maximize their learning. Maintaining accurate and complete student grade records as required by the university. Motivating students to not only learn but also build and improve on the four basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Performing and evaluating oral tests. Maintaining an orderly, peaceful, and positive learning environment. Incorporating cultural and historical components into the curriculum to diversify and expand learning material.
