Job responsibilities
Meet and greet all guests, including potential guests, at the entrance of the restaurant and should ensure that the following is done: a. Ensure that the restaurant is ready to receive guests prior to opening, and that service staff and tables are prepared in accordance with opening standards b. Ensure that the restaurant's operating equipment is clean and in good working order c. Maintain complete uniforms and good personal grooming in accordance with hotel standards. d. Use the name of the restaurant when greeting guests at the restaurant. e. Ask guests if they have a reservation and if so, record it in the reservation book. f. If guests do not have a reservation, make a reservation for them based on their dining preferences and record it in the reservation book. g. Take guests' requests seriously Show guests to their preferred or reserved tables and chairs according to the hotel's standards. Record telephone bookings in the reservation book according to the hotel's standards Train waiters to welcome guests according to the hotel's standards Take guest complaints seriously and resolve problems wherever possible, reporting all complaints to the supervisor. Responsible for the cleanliness of the welcome desk Clean all menus and wine lists Assist in the service of drinks Assist with meal service Knowledge and understanding of detailed menus including daily specials Quietly and efficiently maintain clean tables Safe use of catering trays to minimise damage to crockery and cutlery Order food accurately and clearly for guests Keep up to date with all hotel events Work with the Manager and Human Resources Manager to ensure good performance of departmental staff with the following responsibilities: a. Participate in staff recruitment b. Participate in departmental training c. Assist in the preparation of effective departmental work schedules d. Provide constructive feedback to improve performance e. Know the financial goals of the department f. Repeatedly utilise recyclable resources wherever possible Be familiar with occupational health, safety related policies and procedures to ensure that all work procedures are carried out safely and within the occupational health and safety policy and that subordinates are also carried out in accordance with the policy. Be aware of the duty of safety and comply with occupational, health and safety legal policies and regulations Be familiar with the hotel's safety, ambulance, fire and emergency procedures and be able to use all equipment safely and correctly. Take timely action to remedy hazardous situations and report potential hazards to the supervisor Record safety incidents and accidents as required by the hotel Assist the General Manager in risk management.
Job requirements
Proficient in spoken English Graduated from Vocational High School, University or Tourism School or other hotel related majors. At least 2 years of hotel work experience
